What is Curriculum Vitae?

What is Curriculum Vitae? Possible for job seekers, this word is not foreign anymore. But what about those who did not understand the meaning of this word? In this article we will discuss what is a curriculum vitae.

A curriculum vitae (CV) gives an overview of a person's experience and other qualifications. In some countries, a CV is usually the first thing a potential employer encounters regarding the job seeker and is generally used to screen applicants, often followed by an interview in the job search. The resume is a resume in many countries, many in English Canada and the United States, which is significantly different.

In the UK, is a short summary (usually no more than 2 sides of A4 paper) and therefore contains a summary of the history of employment for job seekers, qualifications and personal information. It is frequently updated to change the weight of the data according to the precise location where the job seeker looking for. Many resumes contain keywords that potential employers can come back and displays the contents of the most flattering brushing more information and bad characters. A CV can also be extended to include an additional page for the job seeker publications if they are important for employment.

In the United States and Canada, is a summary used in the medical and academic career as a "substitute" for a new word CV and much more complete is used for most recruitment campaigns. CV training developed in more than one occasion and should contain a comprehensive list of professional history, including any period of employment, academic credential, publication, contribution or significant achievement. In some professions, it may even include samples of his work, and can run to several pages. Many managers and professionals choose to use a short CV that focuses on their lives and not necessarily their job or education.

In the European Union, there was an attempt to develop a standardized format called Europass CV (in 2004 by the European Parliament and European Commission) and promoted by the EU to facilitate skilled migration between countries, even if n ' is not widespread in most contexts. Europass CV system is designed to be as useful for employers and educational as it is for students and job seekers. It was designed to help them understand what people are switching between the countries have to offer, while overcoming language barriers. The Europass documents also give recognition to non-accredited training and work experience.

There are some companies that prefer not to receive a CV in the application at all, but rather to produce their own form must be filled in the application of any measure. Some of them also allow candidates to attach a CV in support of the application. The reason some companies prefer to handle requests in this manner is to standardize the information they receive, as there may be many variables in a CV. Therefore the company often does not get all the information they need in the application stage.
